Providing essential support when it's needed most
At West Northumberland Food Bank, we’re dedicated to creating a community where no one faces food insecurity. We work together to provide food and practical support to individuals and families experiencing financial challenges. Our mission is to be there through times of need, offering relief and assistance to help people get back on their feet.
Your donations make our work possible. This past year, we've seen a marked rise in new callers, many turning to us for the first time, reflecting the growing number of households experiencing crisis for the first time. With your help, we can continue our support.

What we do
West Northumberland Food Bank was established over 12 years ago by the community, for the community, to provide real support to local people during tough times. We provide food parcels and help people access resources and advice so they can navigate challenges and work towards stability.
We know that food is only part of the story. That’s why we take time to listen and shape our support around what matters most to the people we help. Insights from our recent Tell Us What You Think survey reveal the bigger picture: rising bills, isolation, and the daily pressures that make life harder. These findings show why navigating poverty is complex, and why our response must go beyond food, focusing on the individual and what they need.
